# Auctions

* All Messier Objects NFTs were auctioned simultaneously, each with their own timer counting down from 110 hours. Any bids that occurred within the last 87 minutes of an auction reset the respective timer back to 87 minutes remaining, ensuring no one could auction snipe.
* All Messier Objects NFTs were listed with a starting bid of 178.1 million M87 tokens. The maximum bid on a Messier Objects NFT was capped at 20 billion M87 tokens (2% of the total supply)
* Currently, users who obtained the NFTs are able to auction them on the platform in exchange for ETH. Messier Objects NFTs are subject to a resale fee of 4% and all fees collected from the resale of any Messier Objects NFTs are sent directly to the Virgo treasury

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://messier.gitbook.io/catalogue-de-messier/messier-objects-nfts/auctions.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
