# Safety

### Audit 

* The M87 token contract has been audited to ensure there are no backdoors that could be used to reconfigure the contract to scam investors.
* The token launched directly to market without any presale or preloaded wallets, so ownership was fairly acquired and determined by the market.
* The Uniswap liquidity is locked on UNCX for 10 years (main lock until 1 December 2033).
* The M87 contract has been audited by HashEx and AegisAI.

### Built-in limits

* **Tax ceiling:** the 3% buy/sell tax is the contract's hard maximum. It can be lowered, but it can never be raised.
* **Anti-whale limits:** no wallet can hold, and no single transaction can move, more than 2% of the total supply.
* **Fixed supply:** the contract has no mint function. No new M87 can ever be created.

### Stay safe

**There is no M87 migration.** M87 has used one contract since August 2023: `0x80122c6a83C8202Ea365233363d3f4837D13e888`. Some data sites still show an old migration notice from 2023. Scammers use it to push fake "migrations". Never send tokens to anyone claiming you need to migrate, swap or validate M87.
